I know the value parental absence contributes to research on parenting during difficult times
James Wilson
Father & Kingdom Fathers Member

When my marriage fell apart, I never expected to lose access to my son. My ex-partner made false allegations of abuse, and despite no evidence, the court system seemed to favor her. For eight months, I only saw my son during supervised visits for two hours every other week.
Those were the darkest days of my life. I felt helpless, angry, and deeply depressed. The system that was supposed to protect families was tearing mine apart, and I couldn't see a way forward.
Finding Kingdom Fathers
It was during this struggle that I found Kingdom Fathers through a flyer at my local community center. Initially skeptical, I attended a workshop with nothing to lose. That decision changed everything.
At Kingdom Fathers, I found men who understood my pain because they'd lived it. The facilitators taught me how to navigate the family court system effectively, document interactions professionally, and most importantly, how to remain a present father despite the circumstances.
One of the most valuable lessons I learned was how to manage my emotions during this challenging time. Instead of letting anger drive my actions, I learned to channel that energy into strategic steps to regain my parental rights.
The Road to Reunification
With guidance from Kingdom Fathers, I gathered evidence, worked with a more aggressive attorney recommended by the group, and presented myself as the stable, loving father I truly was.
Six months after joining Kingdom Fathers, the judge ruled in my favor. The supervised visits were ended, and I was granted joint custody. The look on my son's face when I told him I could pick him up from school was worth every struggle.
Paying It Forward
Now, I volunteer with Kingdom Fathers, helping other men who are facing similar battles. I share my story because I want fathers to know that there is hope, there is support, and there is a path forward.
If you're a father struggling with separation, custody battles, or just wanting to be a better parent, I encourage you to reach out to Kingdom Fathers. The workshops, mentorship, and brotherhood you'll find here can change your life, just as they changed mine.
